ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR

As an associate director of the Historic Cocoa Village Playhouse, James has contributed to a variety of special projects in the Broadway on Brevard and the Stars of Tomorrow series. His passionate attention to detail and ability to connect performers with their material make him an instrumental member of the production team.

  • Helping actors connect with their material is something James is very passionate about. Whether it’s on the main stage or with the Stars of Tomorrow youth, James is a master at helping performers explore why their character is thinking or acting the way that they are for a more authentic and meaningful delivery.

  • Voices and accents have always come naturally for James. One of his passions is sharing the tips, tricks, memory tools, and mouth postures with the casts of Brevard County that have been tasked with the assignment.

  • How a scene is laid out physically can be just as important as the words on the page, and the emotion behind them. James specializes in blocking and detail work that can take a performance from “going through the motions” to unique and intentional portrayal.
